A Homestay Worth Staying at

I had an opportunity to stay at this homestay from 22- 26 Feb. A beautifully restored old "tharavad" (the ancestral home of aristocratic families in Kerala), whose exteriors look untouched but with all modern facilities. The owner Rajesh was available whenever we needed him and had terrific ever smiling staff especially Jaffar, who took care of all our needs. Never heard a no/ not possible, from him. Every meal which we took there, including the complimentary breakfast, was exceptional. Especially the nadan(traditional)cuisine. Rajesh even accompanied us on some of our trips and I had my first off- roading experience in his jeep. Backbreaking, yes, but thoroughly enjoyable. The huge plantation on which the Aranyakam is located had many walking trails, a couple of tree houses, view points etc. And other than the sounds of birds, total silence. Just the effort put in to make our stay comfortable makes me want to plan for another trip to this homestay sometime down the line.

The Aranyakam Homestay is nothing less than a magic place in a beautiful setting with the best and friendliest hosts we have ever met! Rajesh and Jaffar went out of their way to make our stay special. The meals were excellent, freshly prepared at the time of our liking. Our stay a the Hornbill tree hut was truly unforgettable. We look forward to coming back one day!

Sorry for the Delayed Review! This place is pure & untouched. It’s like one of those places where you go to Unwind & recharge . The space has two people who make your life so very comfortable & easy Mr Jafar & the Chef. Jafar is a very humble kind soul helpful and always ready to take up your requests. We stayed in the wooden House which had one of the most breathtaking view when you wake up . Wanted to meet the owner of this hidden Gem but sadly had to leave the same day they came . Do try the Food by Michel I don’t know if he would be there Working still but had magic in his hands to give the best tastes. They organically grow spices & coffee in-house! Before it gets boring reading such a big review I would recommend you visit this place

We’ve been here for a day and this was the best stay of our whole trip. The view from our tree house was spectacular. The entrance of the house faces the valley and the sunrise here is worth it. The whole property is green and clean. It also has many scenic spots. It’s the perfect place for anyone who’s looking for mindfulness. A special mention to the host Rajesh, who’s been a wonderful host. He’s very kind and friendly. The food tastes really good. Had a great time here.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Aranyakam during 30-Sep to 2 rooms for 2 nights stay from 01-Oct to 03-Oct (2 families, 7 members). We fell in love at the first sight of the resort facility almost bringing back the traditional kerala tharavdu "(naalu kettu") feeling with all antique furnishings. The owner Rajesh is very friendly , always willing to provide more information on the major attractions and ensure that tourists have a pleasant stay. Jaffer and their chief cook makes excellent breakfast. The dinner will be made as per the guest's preference with prior booking. The food served during dinner were good and tasty , but I found it a bit costlier. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend for tourists who want to explore the place in solo or as a family groups or as group of friend - this place will not disappoint you. Thank you Rajesh, Jaffer and team for welcoming us and making our stay at Aranyakam and memorable one.
